Westerville (Ohio) Westerville South offensive lineman Ricky Harris is quickly becoming one of the more sought after offensive lineman in the Midwest. Harris is now 6-foot-3 and 296 pounds, and his offer list is expanding by the week.
Harris has scholarship offers from Illinois, Kent State, Miami Ohio and Buffalo. However, it is two new offers in particular that have caught his attention.
"This past weekend I got offers from Wisconsin and Boston College," Harris said.
In fact, Harris said they've moved to his top along with a particular Midwest area powerhouse, that has yet to offer.
"The two top schools that have already offered me are Boston College and Wisconsin," Harris said. "Those would be my favorites if Ohio State doesn't offer me."
The big question would be then – would Ohio State top the offer list pending an offer?
"Yes sir," he said.
Harris, though, is still waiting to hear from Ohio State. If an offer comes from the Bucks, it might be tough to turn down.
"Well, from what I hear is that they really liked my film and they want to see me more in depth," Harris said.
A good question would be where his love for Ohio State came from besides the obvious of him being an Ohio boy. His answer was more complex than just being from Ohio.
"I went to the Ohio State camp my freshman year, it was like home," he said. "There were so many people there, but even with all of those people they still made time for you. The coaching staff just seems so well put together."
Harris is going to be a busy recruit this summer and has already made some plans to visit some camps.
"I'm going to Cincinnati camp on the 17th," he said. "I'm going to Ohio State camp on the 20th. I'm going to Michigan State camp after that. I think that is about it. I might go to Notre Dame, but I'm not sure."
This June will be crucial because there are a couple of schools that are on the verge of offering.
"Cincinnati is close," he said. They said they want to offer but they want to see me first. West Virginia said that if I go to theirs – I'll get an offer. I don't know if I'll go yet. I'm still thinking about it."
Also, the camps could go a long ways into furthering his goals.
"I really want to work on my feet," he said. "I'm fast, but I can be faster and I want to be faster. That's what I'm doing is just getting faster."
