Harrington back at home

Class of 2010 wide receiver Sherrard Harrington decided to attend another school earlier in the year, but it didn't take long for him to realize Washington (D.C.) H. D. Woodson is the best place for him.

The 6-foot-1, 171-pound prospect is glad to be back home after a short stint away, and it feels like he never left.

"Everything's going good," Harrington reported. "I just transferred back (to Woodson) after playing four or five games at Friendship Collegiate Academy.

"Basically, my sister wanted me to catch up more on academics instead of football. At the time I wasn't getting along with some of the people at the school and wanted to get away from things. It's made me a better person, I think. Now it just feels like home, to be back here. They greeted me like I was family."

While he is back at Woodson, Harrington will not be suiting up for the rest of the year. He and his family made the decision to focus on academics and prepare himself for upcoming camps and combines.

"I just got an invite from the U.S. Army All-American Combine, so I know I'm going down to Texas in January for that," he said. "That's first and foremost for me.

"I've been hearing from a bunch of schools but North Carolina has been showing a lot of interest. I really like them. One of our former players, Dion Guy went up there. He played for us last year. I haven't been in touch with him but I'll try to get up with him sometime in the next week."

Harrington has already attended a game at one ACC school.

"I actually checked out Maryland's game against East Michigan. It went really well. Coach Franklin showed me around and he was real nice to the recruits. I met a couple of the other guys there. I'm not sure what other plans I have at this time."

In limited action at Friendship, Harrington caught 35 passes for 425 yards and a touchdown. He said his time at Friendship was productive in that he received a lot of help from the coaches.
