Hargreaves on Florida visit, recruiting

Tampa (Fla.) Wharton defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III started the year off by displaying his skills at the Under Armour All-America Combine in Orlando, Fla. Since that event, he has used just one weekend to focus on the recruiting process.
"I went to Florida's junior day two weeks ago," Hargreaves said. "I liked the visit a lot."

The 5-foot-10, 177-pound defensive back talked about what stood out during his time on campus with the Gators.
"I like Gainesville because I like the atmosphere surrounding that program and the college town," Hargreaves said. "I really didn't talk with Coach (Will) Muschamp much, but we went through academics, talked about nutrition, and all of that stuff. It was really fun."
It wasn't Hargreaves first visit to Gainesville. He said that on previous visits he has spoken with the coaching staff, specifically Travaris Robinson, about how the Gators would use him if he were to end up in orange and blue.
"When I first went up there, my very first time, he told me they would use me in the nickel the most," Hargreaves said. "That is fine with me. I just want to get on the field."
Hargreaves currently claims offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, South Florida, and Virginia. While there is no denying that Florida has made a major impression on Hargreaves and that they are in a good position, he didn't name them as a specific leader at this time.
"They are all really the same because I haven't seen a lot of the schools that have offered me," Hargreaves said. "So I can't really pick right now."
As for upcoming visits, the talented defensive back isn't positive where he will step on campus at next.
"I don't have anything scheduled right now," Hargreaves said. "I'd like to take a visit to USC and Clemson. I really want to see them. I just don't know when I will."
Hargreaves is a versatile player for Wharton contributing in all phases of the game. He recorded two interceptions as a junior. He made a major impact on the scoreboard though as he accounted for 11 touchdowns on the season.
