Memphis (Tenn.) Briarcrest Christian defensive end Greg Hardy is a prospect to keep an eye on this season. He attended the NIKE camp in Oxford where he showed up with his tall, lean frame and turned heads.
"I don't have any offers right now," Hardy said. "I am getting mail from LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, Arkansas State and Georgia. I have not played football since my sophomore year because of an injury so people are waiting to see me play first."
The 6-foot-5, 232-pound Hardy attended the Oxford NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.83 seconds and ran a 4.81 second shuttle.
"I am getting recruited some in basketball too," Hardy said. "I am getting recruited more in football right now. I would look at playing both sports in college, I will just have to wait and see how things shake out."
Hardy is ranked as the No. 16 player in the state of Tennessee by Rivals.com.
"The schools that I'm looking at the hardest are LSU, Wake Forest, Ole Miss and Arkansas State," Hardy said. "My high school coach from last year (Hugh Freeze) is on staff at Ole Miss now and I have talked to him a couple of times when I went down there and all."
As of right now, Hardy has not received any offers in basketball either, but is receiving some interest from some of the same programs.
"I am waiting to check out all of my options," Hardy said. "I would love to play both sports in college. I just don't want to burn any bridges or rule anyone out or anything like that."
