Hardesty to visit Nebraska

New Bern, N.C. tailback Montario Hardesty led his team to a 3-0 start Friday night turning in another 100-yard rushing night as New Bern defeated New Hanover 41-0. Hardesty rushed for 186 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns in the victory.
Hardesty has rushed for over 500 yards in his first three games and has scored eight touchdowns. With over twenty offers to date, the phone hasn’t stopped ringing once the September 1st contact period began.

“I got 16 calls on the first day,” explained Hardesty. “Clemson, Florida State, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech have are some of the schools that have contacted me.”
Hardesty still remains relatively open to the recruiting process, but seven schools come to mind when talking about who he has his eye on at this point.
“I’m know I’m definitely interested in Clemson, Florida State, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech,” admitted Hardesty. “I’m beginning to think about taking official visits. I know I’m going to visit Nebraska for sure but I haven’t set a date for that visit.”
Hardesty has also tentatively scheduled a visit to Virginia Tech the weekend of Nov. 5.
“The coaching staff at Virginia Tech and I have been discussing when I might be able to make it up there,” stated Hardesty. “Provided we’re not in the state title game again this year, I think I may visit Blacksburg then.”
Hardesty and his teammates have made appearances in the last two state title games, falling in both to four-time state champion Independence. Both schools appear poised for a rematch for the third season in a row.
Hardesty will take all five official visits before reaching a decision.
“I’ll probably take most of my visits after the season,” expressed Hardesty. “I do want to take some unofficial visits during the fall to check out some game atmospheres.”
