Three-star quarterback Braden Hanson is closing in on a decision. The Charlotte (N.C.) Latin star has cut his list of favorites to three and is looking to decide by the end of the month.
"I've narrowed my list down to three schools and now I'm trying to make a decision," he said. "I'm down to Missouri, North Carolina and Wisconsin."
Recently Hanson made a trip out to one of his finalists, Missouri.
"I was just on vacation out there and stopped by the school for a day last Thursday," he said. "It was good. It was the second time I was there and it gave me a good chance to talk to the coaches and meet some of the players. It gave me more of a reassurance on their school, but I didn't get the same awe I had the first time."
Will Hanson visit either of his other choices before deciding?
"I think I've seen everywhere else," he said. "My parents helped me see every school, now it's just a matter of getting my facts straight and coming to a decision.
"I'd like to decide pretty soon, more than likely by the end of the month."
The No. 11 pro-style quarterback in the country discussed what made the three schools stand out.
"They are all kind of different," he said. "I live in Charlotte and North Carolina was the first school to offer me. They are in-state and UNC would allow me to stay close to home around my friends. It's also good to play for Butch Davis, that's tough to beat.
"Madison is a pretty great town and they offer a great education there. Their football is also the best program that has offered me; they are No. 5 in the country. I really like their coaching staff.
"Missouri is a neat place particularly since I'm from the Kansas City area. It allows my relatives to come see me and reminds me how I miss the Midwest. They also run the same offense we do at my school, so that makes a lot of sense."
