Hankins enjoys Georgia Tech visit

Following a weekend official visit to Georgia Tech, three-star inside linebacker Beau Hankins of Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin said several teams are very much in the mix with Feb. 1 only a few days away.
The Yellow Jackets are one of them. The others are Arkansas, Central Florida, Penn State, Stanford and Wake Forest.

Asked if he was leaning in any direction, Hankins replied, "Not at the moment. I'll sleep on it and pray about it. I've got a plethora of [choices]. On the 31st, I'll call my school. But I won't go public until [Feb. 1]."
According to Hankins, his visit to Georgia Tech went well.
"They offered me on the visit," he said. "It was great. I got a chance to meet the coaching staff a second time. It was a good bonding experience for me. I had only been to Georgia Tech once. It was junior day last year. I wanted to go check it out, and write down some pros and cons."
What stood out?
"The players are really cool," Hankins said. "They know how to have fun. The coaches are real down to earth. They're all about business. And the facilities are second to none. It's a beautiful place. I love it. They pretty much have a crop of juniors and seniors. The depth chart at linebacker is really skinny. They said I could come in and if I don't play, it's completely on me. They said there is plenty of opportunity there."
Of his finalists, Hankins has only visited Arkansas, Central Florida and Georgia Tech.
With the others, "I've talked to the coaches. Even though I wasn't able to establish a visit, I still have genuine interest."
For Hankins, all that's left now is to make a decision.
"No more visits," he said. "My recruiting is over."
