Junior to Watch: Caleb Hanie
School: Forney, Texas

Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Hanie is 6-foot-2 and 226 pounds. He has been clocked at 4.80 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Hanie completed 103-of-194 passes for 1,593 yards. He had 11 touchdown passes. He also ran for 306 yards on 95 carries with 12 scores.
Favorite Schools: Hanie’s list currently includes TCU, Texas A&M, Iowa, Texas Tech and Houston.
Skinny: After losing in the state semi-finals in 2002, Caleb Hanie is working hard to get himself back to the playoffs and hopefully continue his season a little longer in 2003.
“Obviously we would rather have continued playing,” Hanie said. “It was disappointing to lose, but that is the way it worked out.”
Hanie is planning his part during the summer to help improve his game up a notch.
Hanie plans to attend the Houston, TCU, Texas Tech, and Iowa summer camps.
“I really like TCU. That is one of the schools I'm going to camp at. I’m planning to work those camps into this summer. That is the plan right now.”
As of now, Hanie is receiving mail from the schools on his list.
“Right now, the schools can’t talk to me. But I’d assume that will happen some next month. No schools have offered me a scholarship yet either. We’ll see how that all plays out too.”
