Hand ready for first official visit

"We're 7-1 now," Philadelphia (Pa.) West Philadelphia defensive lineman Derrell Hand said. "We have the playoffs coming up the weekend after next."
Which makes this weekend a good time for Hand to get started on his official visits.
"I'm still looking at five schools," Hand said. "Michigan State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Miami, and Syracuse. All five have offered me.

"I have my first official visit coming up this weekend. I go to Michigan State. They play Wisconsin.
"Then I believe I have Wisconsin and Miami in December. Notre Dame should be somtime in January. But I'm not sure of the exact dates.
"I don't really have any favorites yet. I plan to go on this trip this weekend and see what happens."
With both Michigan State and Wisconsin on his list, who will Hand root for this weekend?
"I'll be silent," Hand said. "I'll just be there to watch. I won't do a lot of cheering."
The 6-foot-2, 305 pound Hand is the No. 39 defensive tackle prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 19 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania.
