Hancock not ready to pull trigger

You can't blame Clovis (Calif.) West fullback Brandon Hancock for taking his time with his decision and official announcement. Heck, this is only the biggest thing that he's ever done in his life.
"Right now, I've decided that I'm going to back off and watch the first few games of the season," Hancock, who has been rumored and reportedly committed to USC now on three different occasions.

"I need some more time to evaluate USC and Stanford and see how they're using the fullback. I know that they plan on making the fullback a big part of their offenses, and I just want to see how they fit.
So is this a case of Hancock maybe souring on the Trojans and liking more what he sees now with the Cardinal? Or is it a case of Hancock just taking his time to make sure of his decision and maybe build up the drama some more?
"I wish it was only that," Hancock, who is ranked as the No. 5 fullback in the nation, said. "At one point, I thought for sure that I would just go ahead and get it over with and commit to USC. But now I want to really look at things a little more in-depth.
"I'm just really curious to see what Stanford has. I want to see if they have what it takes to play in bowl games every year. Coach Willingham has a great offensive mind, and I want to see if the Cardinal is going to be legit."
The same goes with USC.
"They have a huge challenge this week," Hancock said. "They're going up against one of the best programs in the nation - Kansas State. If they can hang with them and show me that the fullback is a big part of the offense, then I'll have a better understanding of where they stand in my mind."
Either way, it doesn't look like Hancock will officially announce or maybe make his decision for another few weeks.
"I know that SC and Stanford play each other in week four," Hancock said.
"Maybe I'll just go with the team that wins that game. But I just need a little more time. This is giving me some extra time to prepare how I'm going to announce my decision an still be fair to all of the schools that I'm interested in."
