Hampton nears final decision

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --Rivals250 defensive back C.J. Hampton has been the focus of much attention the last few months. He has maintained his commitment to the Ole Miss Rebels but he has also taken a few official visits.
The Meridian (Miss.) standout took his first two official visits to Ole Miss and Florida State, and his two most recent visits to Alabama and Arkansas.
"It was a great visit," Hampton said of his trip to Alabama. "It's always good with coach Saban. He always has good things to say about me and my family. It was a pretty good visit."

"Arkansas was real good," he added. "I got to meet all the coaches and hang out with D.J. Dean some and Alex Collins and all of them. They said they they were real pumped I was there on a visit and they showed a lot of love while I was there so it was good."
After all the visits, where does everything stand on the recruiting front?
"I'm still committed to the University of Mississippi," Hampton said. "I'm just checking out some options. I'm really just looking around to make sure everything is good. That's really it."
While he is checking out his options, he does plan to end the speculation once and for all with a final announcement in the very near future.
"In the next couple of weeks, probably a week and a half to two weeks, something like that," Hampton said. "I think my parents are ready to shut it down so we'll let it be known in a week and a half to two weeks."
This week Hampton is competing in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic in Montgomery, Ala., as a member of the Mississippi squad.
