Hamlin names leader

Lamar, S.C., safety/wide receiver Michael Hamlin (6-foot-2, 190 pounds, 4.6-second 40-yard dash) entered into January with three visits set, and after taking his first one, a leader has emerged. He will take the other two, however, before making a final decision.
“I went to Clemson last weekend and it was good, pretty good,” Hamlin stated. “I had a chance to meet the players and met all the coaches.” He said one particular aspect of the visit really stood out to him.

“I would say the team as a whole unit,” he said. “They were all pretty close, and I liked that. Clemson is now my top school.” He was hosted by freshman linebacker Anthony Waters and rated the visit an eight.
Hamlin will travel to North Carolina this weekend and then Duke on Jan. 23 before making his final decision.
“I am just looking at the atmosphere and how the people communicate,” he commented. “I also want a place where the players get along well with each other.”
Michael is rated the No. 43 safety in the nation by Rivals.com and is the No. 10 overall prospect in the state of South Carolina.
