Hamilton visits three

In the past month, Clifton (Va.) Centreville cornerback Darryl Hamilton has taken visits to three schools in the ACC. Where has the 5-foot-8, 165-pounder been and does he have any favorites?
"I went to Duke, North Carolina and Virginia in the past month or so," he said. "I have been to UVA a lot because my brother goes there, but I liked Duke too and North Carolina's campus was impressive.

"At Duke, I just like the way the coaches put it to me. I felt at home since they treated me like part of the family already. North Carolina was kind of like Duke, they made me feel at home too, not as much as Duke though. I like Carolina because it is its own kind of community. The campus is real nice and the coaches know what they are looking for and need.
"As for Virginia, the only difference this time around was the coaches. They were all into me and I talked to coach Poindexter a lot. I like him; he's always there for me."
At this time, Virginia continues to be the lone offer for Hamilton. Is anyone else close?
"Duke has been talking about offering and Syracuse has too," he said. "I'm also hearing that North Carolina and Notre Dame are possibilities for offers.
"Most of those schools are waiting for me to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State in May. They are all really interested; they want to base my offer off of film and the camp."
Other schools including North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, Boston College, Florida and Michigan have also shown interest.
In June, Hamilton plans to participate in a handful of camps including Syracuse, Duke, Notre Dame, North Carolina State and possibly Boston College.
As for a decision, Hamilton would like to do it sooner than later.
"I think I'll probably make my decision midway through my senior season or towards the end of it," he said. "I don't want to be stressed about it. I want a good hold on where I am going."
