Hamilton still under the radar

There's no question that Bluffton (S.C.) defensive tackle/tight end Jansen Hamilton has the tools to be a Division I-A prospect. But for now, he continues to fly under the recruiting radar.
"I got a scholarship offer from The Citadel and that's about it," Hamilton said. "I hear from The Citadel a little about it, but not much."

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder is one of the top tight ends in South Carolina Region 7-AAA and is a good athlete who stands out in basketball as well as on the gridiron.
Earlier in the process, Clemson and South Carolina were recruiting the two-star rated prospect.
"I haven't heard anything from them in a while," he said.
He also hasn't heard from any of the other programs in the ACC or SEC.
"I haven't gotten anything from those schools," he said. "I heard from Middle Tennessee State, but that's about it."
Despite the lack of attention, Hamilton hopes to impress this season.
"Basically, I just want to do better than last year," he said. "I want to stay in the weight room and keep talking to my coaches. I also hope to make the North-South game or the Shrine Bowl."
