Hamilton still passionate about Pitt

Pickerington (Ohio) Central defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton has already taken one official visit and plans to take more, but his commitment to the Pitt Panthers remains intact.
"It's a very solid thing. I still love Pittsburgh with a passion," Hamilton said. "They understood that I want to take all my official visits."

The official visit Hamilton took was to Kentucky the weekend of Oct. 24, and he maintains contact with the Wildcats.
"I have been talking to them a lot lately," Hamilton said. "It's a great school to go to and a great football team they are setting up there."
New interest has come just in the last few weeks from N.C. State and Ohio State, and he is looking into both programs.
"That (N.C. State interest) started about a week or two ago," Hamilton said. "Rob Dowdy went down there for a visit and said something about me. They started calling me after that.
"I don't really know a lot about them, but I do plan on going on an official visit soon. We're going to set it up when they come up this upcoming week."
Hamilton lives in suburban Columbus and Ohio State coaches have known about him for some time, but the first interaction between the two parties came just this week.
"I talked to Luke Fickell and he was talking about the interest in me and being a Buckeye," Hamilton said. "Basically he told me they were light at the defensive line position and I was a really good candidate for that position. They want to keep Ohio kids in Ohio."
The 6-foot-3, 283-pound Hamilton is now in the process of scheduling official visits with both Pitt and N.C. State.
Pickerington Central's season came to an end in the second round of the OHSAA state playoffs. They finished with an 11-1 record.
