Hamilton pulls another surprise

When it came to the recruiting process, Stockton (Calif.) Edison running back Lynell Hamilton was anything but convention. So when it came time to make a choice, why follow the norm?
“I decided to go against the grain and follow my heart instead of my head,” Hamilton said. “I committed to San Diego State today over Oregon.”

Hamilton said he also relied heavily on his family to influence his decision. His family was pushing the chance to play early and be the man in program that’s on the rise. That’s something that the more he thought about the more he believed in too.
“SDSU is a program that’s moving up and needs a back like me to complement what they do on offense,” he said. “They like to throw it, but they need a guy that can break them down on the run, too.”
Hamilton, who is 6-foot and 195 pounds, is ranked as the nation’s No. 7 running back.
