Hamilton postpones Tennessee trip

Melbourne (Fla.) running back / safety Mike Hamilton was scheduled to travel to Knoxville this weekend, but an illness in the family caused him to change his plans. Although he has yet to reschedule the visit, anther school has jumped into the picture for his services and has managed to sneak in a trip.
“My mother got sick, and thought it was better to stay with her,” commented Mike’s dad, Michael, who was sceduled to accompany his son on the visit. Mike said he plans to trip to Knoxville in January, but hasn’t set a date yet.

Another school, however, has recently offered and has managed to squeeze in a visit on Jan. 16: The nearby University of South Florida. While on his early list, West Virginia has dropped off.
“They were really never on my top list,” he commented. “They had just offered so I was looking at them.”
He said Tennessee, USF -- who have both offered schalrships -- along with Florida, Florida State, and Michigan make up his top five. He plans to wait until January to make a decision.
At 6-foot-1, and 210 pounds, Hamilton runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds, and is listed as the No. 45 running back by Rivals.com. The three-star recruit ended his high school career with 1,510 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, including one 315 yard game.
