Haman excited with in-state offer

The latest offer from Arizona is an important one for Brock Haman and although the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro outside linebacker loves the Wildcats he's not ready to end his recruitment just yet.
"It's very exciting especially it being my first in-state offer really, it's exciting to get the U of A offer," Haman said.

"I actually did think I was going to get offered earlier than I did and then once it kind of came it was a surprise because I didn't know if they were going to still offer and it was definitely a surprise that they offered before ASU just because I'm so close and I went to their camp. I thought (the Sun Devils) were going to offer earlier."
Arizona, Arkansas, Arizona State, Oregon State and UCLA are in the top group for Haman, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect who's rated No. 14 in the Arizona preseason rankings by Rivals.com.
He attended Arizona State's camp but not Arizona's because a previous hip injury was bothering him a little bit. Haman felt neither he nor the Wildcats' staff would benefit by him camping in Tucson so he decided to skip it - even more surprising then that Arizona offered before Arizona State.
"I was going to (camp at Arizona) but my hip, I was really active on it that week, and it was hurting pretty bad back then just from my old hip injury so I didn't think it would be beneficial for me or U of A really to see me on a bad leg and not be able to evaluate me because I wouldn't have been able to execute as well," Haman said.
"I'm not really sure what's going on (with Arizona State). I think they're going to offer me but now it's kind of up in the air. I'm not really in the loop anymore but they definitely don't talk to me as much as other schools which is surprising because they're so close."
Making a decision before the season is preferable but Haman, a three-star prospect, said he's willing to wait if other top programs might offer. Arizona takes a huge leap forward after offering but the Saguaro standout will be patient a little while longer to see where his recruitment goes.
"I will wait to commit but I love U of A, they're one of my top schools and it was very nice to get that offer," Haman said. "I know the people there and I like the coaching staff there.
"It's one of the top programs in the Pac-10 and you want to go to a place where you have a chance to win the conference and a national championship. Last year they did well. It's not too far from home but then again it's not in my backyard so that's nice."
