Haltom juniors have major offers

When looking for natural talent, junior linebacker prospect Anthony Lewis of Haltom, Texas, fits the bill.
From the beginning of his sophomore year, Lewis was positioned as a wingback. However, after spending proper time in the weight room has surged this 6-foot-2, 220 pound linebacker into one of the top players in the Lone Star state.

Coach Kenny Perry says that it would be hard to find better than his star defensive player.
"When I got here last spring, I could just tell by watching him that here is a kid with natural athletic ability and goes full speed every play," Perry said.
"He's got a knack for getting to the football and getting there in a big time hurry."
Schools are lining up for his services early as offers from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Washington State, New Mexico, Missouri, and Wisconsin are out on the table.
"You watch Anthony on film and you think there is no way he can do this every play," Perry said. "Every school that has come in to look at him offered right away."
"I don't think you can compare film and find a better football player."
At his first season at linebacker, Lewis racked up 105 tackles including five sacks and two interceptions. His senior season looks to be huge not only on defense but on offense as well.
"We're going to try and line him up at running back at well," Perry said. "When he gets the ball, you know he's going to run someone over so we can use him all over."
Haltom also is home to another first year star in 6-foot-5, 200 pound wide receiver Jeremy Brent who had over 1000 yards receiving in his first year of football.
Brent, who averages 23 points a game in basketball, has made a big impact on the football field picking up offers from Missouri, Houston, and Washington State thus far.
"He's got the one thing everyone is looking for, just like Anthony, and that's great size," Perry said about Brent. "Now, he hasn't done a lot of running and that's what we're big on here. Once he has a chance to train properly on his speed, it will get better."
Just like Lewis, college coaches have wondered just where Perry has been hiding the sleeper receiver all this time.
"I tell everyone, we found him walking through the halls of our school," he said. "He's blossomed both in the classroom and on the football field. If he has a year like he had this past season, he can go anywhere he wants to go."
