Hall will see if Indiana's a good fit

ATLANTA — Recruiting has heated up a little recently for Chamblee offensive lineman Hamilton Hall. Memphis has already offered this week. Ole Miss offered a couple of weeks ago. More offers could be on the way too, but one school that has been in this race from the beginning is Indiana.

The Hoosiers offered the 6-foot-5, 325 pound senior after his junior season, so Indiana has been involved with Hall for a little over a year.

Mike Hart and Darren Hiller left Bloomington to visit Hall in Atlanta last week and the 2018 three-star prospect was set to head north this weekend for an official visit, but that was changed to January 19 earlier this week.

"I have heard a lot of good things about the head coach (Tom Allen) and it seems like they have a brotherhood up there, so I want to see what it is like at Indiana," said Hall. "I am interested to see what it is like around the players and the coaches when I take my visit.

"The relationship I have with the coaches is pretty strong, so that is something I want to build on. I want to confirm what I feel like I already about Indiana when I see it in person — that is that it could be a good fit for me academically and athletically."

Other than offering early and having time to build strong relationships, another thing in the Hoosier's corner is stability. Ole Miss, Mississippi State and UCF are three schools in pursuit of Hall that have had coaching changes or other off the field concerns recently.

Indiana hasn't had that.

"It definitely helps Indiana that I feel good about their coaching situation. A lot of schools are having major coaching changes, so knowing that the coaches recruiting me plan to be there is big for them. It definitely does help them as far as my decision goes."

The only other official visit that is scheduled right now is to Ole Miss the weekend of January 26. Each of these visits will be key as Hall inches closer to his decision.

"A big thing for me is not committing to a school that I have not visited, so each visit is important to me," said Hall. "I have been to a lot of big schools and the feeling I had there did not always feel right.

"I am looking for the right fit. The visits will play a big part in where I go in the end."

Hall plans to take his time with the recruiting process. He will not sign in December and he may wait until signing day in February before he makes his decision.
