Hall picks up huge honor

It was a great weekend for Fresno (Calif.) Edison quarterback Arkelon Hall who topped off two great workouts in a row at the EA SPORTS Elite 11 regional workout in Las Vegas by being selected as the 7th signal caller named to the Elite 11 Quarterback camp in July.
The more we've seen of Hall this spring, the more we liked him. He shows up very well on film and then had a strong NorCal Nike Camp performance. The following day at the EA SPORTS Elite regional workout at Cal, Hall again showed his strong, accurate arm and was the most consistent signal caller over the two days.

We called Hall, along with about six or seven quarterbacks, to try and have them come to Vegas to compete for those last six spots. Even though Hall was already committed to attending the Washington State camp, he decided to leave a day early and arrived at Friday's workout just a few hours before the camp kicked off.
We saw no signs of jet lag at all as Hall was clearly the top quarterback on Friday. In fact, Hall was close to being locked in for the Elite 11 camp that day but we all decided to hold off any decisions until the final workout on Saturday. On Saturday, Hall was once again, the most consistent quarterback in what was a very strong field of signal callers. He can throw with anyone but has very quick feet, is smart and excelled in the read and react drills where we asked the quarterback to read a safety or corner and quickly make his read.
Following the camp, when we told Hall of our decision to select him for the Elite 11 camp, it nearly brought both he and his mother to tears.
"I can’t believe this happened for me,” Hall said on Saturday. “This has been my goal since the 8th grade. I’ve worked so hard for this and it means everything to me to be selected because I’m the first player from my area to make it. It means a lot to my family as well and I’m representing my team and my city which makes it extra special. It really is a dream come true.”
