Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst is cruising right along and in a good position to make the Missouri state playoffs which start in a few weeks. A big reason why is 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end/tight end Derek Hall. Hall, a two-star prospect, has been doing a great job on defense and causing a lot of damage.
"We won 34-0 in our second district game," Hall said. "I played pretty good. I had six tackles, and I blocked well at tight end, but I didn't have any catches. I did have a sack on defense, though."
Hall said his strong play has really started to bring in the scholarship offers. After sitting on one offer from Kansas for quite some time, he's now expanded that to five.
"Stanford offered me if I can get into the school," Hall, who has a 3.30 grade-point average and a 23 on the ACT, said. "Northwestern, Boston College, Michigan State, and Kansas have all offered me. The Northwestern, Boston College and Michigan State ones are newer. Those are all of my offers, and they were all written offers."
Hall has not taken any official visits yet, but he has lined up his first one to Boston College on December 2.
"I'll probably take three or four visits and then make my decision," he said. "I'm probably going to visit Stanford for sure and some of my teammates want to go to Kansas, so I may go up there with them."
"I'd probably say I get the most attention from Stanford. They text me all the time, and then Kansas is behind them. Stanford, Kansas, and Boston College are the three teams that stick out the most for me. Stanford is definitely way up there."
Hall would like to decide some time in December.
