Hales returns from LSU, Texas is next

The second junior day visit for Klein (Texas) Oak wide receiver DeSean Hales was to LSU this past weekend. It doesn't look like it's going to be his last unofficial visit in the next couple of weeks.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound speedster says that he liked his trip to Baton Rouge this past weekend. He got a chance to speak with coach Les Miles and check out the LSU campus. At the same time, he's got another visit set up for this weekend and in early March as well.

"LSU was pretty good, I liked it there," Hales said. "They showed us around the campus and we got to see the academic centers. We went inside the stadium too and had lunch. Then we got to go to the basketball game when they played Florida."
Hales said he also had a chance to speak with the Tigers' head coach.
"He just talked about how he used to be in the Big 12 and he used to recruit my area," Hales said. "It was nice. We didn't talk much about an offer because they have a new wide receivers coach and they haven't had a chance to recruit receivers heavily yet."
Next up is Texas. Hales says that he spoke with coach Oscar Giles this week and set up the unofficial visit for this Friday.
"I'm going to UT this Friday and I'm supposed to meet with coach (Mack) Brown," Hales said. "I'm supposed to be getting an offer, but it's not official right now. Coach Giles just talked about where I was being recruited and all that. What I learned was that they don't like to send the scholarship offer in the mail but do it in person instead. I thought that was pretty neat."
"He said they like me as a slot receiver and a return specialist."
Hales says that he's not going to put together an official top five for some time. However, unofficially, he says that Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M are on the top of his list.
After Texas, he plans to visit Oklahoma unofficially on March 10. A decision may not be that far off in the future.
"I'd like to decide hopefully by the start of my senior season," Hales said. "It possibly could be earlier though that I want to go ahead and make my commitment."
