Hairston lands offer No. 3

Winston-Salem (N.C.) Parkland running back Chris Hairston landed his third offer recently. The 6-foot-0, 200-pounder pulled his first Division I in-state scholarship.
"East Carolina offered me a full ride," he said. "I didn't think they were going to offer. They came by the school and my coach gave them my highlight tape. They came back and said they were going to offer. They still have to mail me the letter."

The scholarship is the third for Hairston joining Wisconsin and Winston Salem State.
In the meantime, other schools are moving in as well.
"Clemson came by the school to talk to my coach, Duke and North Carolina are still around. Vanderbilt is in touch too," he said. "I have a lot of I-AA colleges, Western Carolina, Richmond and Delaware State looking."
Hairston has yet to visit schools this spring, but confirmed he plans to hit up both East Carolina and Wisconsin sometime this summer.
With interest growing, does the running back like anybody?
"I'm really still open with all the offers that I'm possibly going to get," he said. "I would like Clemson to offer me. I like Clemson a lot. They always have a good football team and great running backs. I'd like to fill in C.J. Spiller's shoes."
Currently Hairston is keeping busy with track where he just participated in the regionals on Saturday.
"I did well," he said. "I ran a 10.92 in the 100 and 22.3 in the 200."
