Hager makes the call after trip

Austin (Texas) Westlake linebacker Bron Hager has decided to take his talents to an in-state program with a new coaching regime.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder recently made a commitment to North Texas after his official visit this past weekend. UNT's head coach Todd Dodge came from Southlake Carroll and ironically played against Hager's Westlake team in the state playoffs. Hager says he's glad to be on his sideline at the next level.

"It was great being around all those guys that I played against," Hager said about his visit to UNT. "The coach that beat me was cool. I just think what this program is going to do is shock a lot of people. I want to be a part of it."
The other school that was showing interest in Hager was Baylor. Hager didn't want to wait to see what happened.
"They came through with an offer, but it was like, if you want to wait another week, we can get you in," Hager said. "It was kind of a waiting kind of deal and I didn't want to wait."
