Haddock makes his decision

Defensive tackle Tyler Haddock of Mc Kees Rocks (Pa.) Montour has been receiving increased interest from a number of programs over the last month, but on Sunday he decided that he already had enough information to make his final decision.
"I committed to Kent State," said Montour, who is 6-foot-0 and 300-pounds. "I spoke to Coach Hazel and he's like a father figure. I felt like I will be a player in the MAC that will be a freshman sensation on the line."

A visit to the school on Saturday sealed the deal for Haddock.
"The facilities are on the move and I know I will play early because of my talent," said Haddock. "Also the area is a small town, so everyone will know you as that guy."
Haddock also explained the timing of his decision.
"Because I had to think it through and now it's clear to me," said Haddock. "Also I haven't even told coach yet, so he's going to be so excited on Monday morning."
The big defensive tackle was eager to conclude his recruiting process.
"I'm so happy," he said. "I'm happy to be with a good family."
A few other schools were seriously involved at the very end.
"Georgia Tech, Temple and a few more," said Haddock. "Temple was on the verge of offering, but that's not my kind of area."
