Hackney pulls quiet trigger

Fullback Cameron Hackney may have fallen under the radar and apparently an early commitment did as well.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Jacksonville (Texas) target made his decision early right after his junior season. Apparently, even though when he pulled the trigger it wasn't found out right away, it certainly was big news for the No. 94 overall prospect in the Lone Star state.

"Yeah I committed to Houston a while back," Hackney said. "I don't know, I've got family down there and I feel real comfortable there. I'm still thinking about Colorado though."
LSU and Colorado are two schools still recruiting the young man even though neither of the two has sent an offer. However, Hackney says that even though he has thought about visits, he didn't make any travel plans this summer.
"No, I haven't gone anywhere yet," Hackney said. "Houston plays the same offense as we do here so that was something I liked. Colorado is the same way, but I don't know right now."
"I would say I'm a soft commitment right now."
Hackney has also been participating in a speed camp this summer with his high school teammates as they attempt to make a run at state this fall.
"Oh we're ready," he said. "The camp has really helped me and our receivers down here get faster and better."
