Ha-Ha is not a prospect to laugh at

When it comes to safety prospects from the state of Florida no one is hotter right now then Hasean Clinton-Dix. Clinton-Dix, from Orlando Dr. Phillips High School, finished with 93 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, six sacks and three interceptions last year as a junior. Along with putting up some impressive numbers he also has one of the top nicknames from the Sunshine State.
"They call me 'Ha-Ha'," Clinton-Dix said. "My grandma gave me that name as a kid and it just stuck. I fell down some steps and my face was bleeding and I was just laughing about it. I was five or six at the time. That's when she started calling me Ha-Ha and now everyone does. I guess I was a tough kid."

Ha-Ha, 6-2 and 195 pounds, is also a tough football player. He will be one of the state's most coveted defensive prospects in the Class of 2011.
"I am dedicated, determined, and motivated. I am focused and I keep my teammates focused. I am a big time leader on and off the field. I give a lot of credit to my coaches who have worked with me. I have speed and footwork and I play well in coverage. Some schools like me as corner and some as a safety. I suppose I will do a little bit of both in college."
Clinton-Dix also credits his practice competition over the last few seasons in helping him develop as a defensive back. After all, he played on the same team as Ricardo Miller (Michigan) and Kenny Shaw (Florida State) and his current teammate, Demetrius Hart, is one of the top all-purpose backs in the state.
"I have gone against the best of the best in D-Hart, Kenny, and Ricardo. There is no doubt they made me a better player."
According to Clinton-Dix he has scholarship offers from 15 schools including ones from Florida State, Florida, Miami, Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State. This past weekend he took a visit to Florida State for a junior day in Tallahassee.
"I had never been there and I really enjoyed it. I was comfortable and very relaxed. Coach (Rick) Trickett is too funny and I really like coach Jimbo Fisher. They have a bunch of great new coaches. I thought it went real well. Coach (Mark) Stoops is a great guy who has coached some big time players. I feel real comfortable with him."
The hot recruiting rumor is that Florida State could very well be the team to beat for Clinton-Dix. What does Ha-Ha have to say about that?
"Nah, that's just a rumor. I love all the schools. Right now I am just looking for the right fit. I am looking at the staffs, the schools, and playing time too."
In addition to FSU, Clinton-Dix has also been to Florida and he will visit Alabama this weekend for their junior day.
