Gwaltney to visit Ohio State this weekend

Long Island (N.Y.) North Babylon running back Jason Gwaltney has pushed up his official visit to Ohio State to this weekend and has shuffled around a few other things as well.
"I pushed the visit up so I could see them play a game and this weekend's will be against Penn State so I'll get to see how things are on a game weekend," said the 6-foot-0, 234-pounder. "I'm still committed to West Virginia, but Ohio State is one of the schools that could change my mind if I like it enough. I have to make sure I do what's best for me."

Gwaltney is also going to take a visit to West Virginia, which is still scheduled for Jan. 7. He'll also see three others.
"Michigan State is on Dec. 10 now," he said. "Southern Cal is still on Dec. 17 and I'll take one on Dec. 3 if I can between Nebraska, Central Florida and Pitt."
Nebraska was originally scheduled for Dec. 10, but Gwaltney isn't sure he'd fit in their offense.
"It's not really an offense for a big back," he said. "I still might visit them, but I haven't decided. Pitt is still of interest and Central Florida came into the picture."
Why UCF?
"Coach O'Leary has connections to someone on my coaching staff and he has good ties with the Vikings and the NFL," he said. "I want to go someplace that will prepare me for the NFL. Even if you put up great numbers, it's all about the combine and I want some NFL coaches to help me prepare."
Gwaltney has 22 touchdowns on the season, giving him 112 for his career. He's rushed for 1,464 yards.
