Gunn makes switch to hoops

Omaha (Neb.) Central running back Brandon Gunn has made the transition from the football field to the basketball court. So far it’s been a successful change over. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound three-star selection scored seven points in his team’s first game of the season.
“We’re really good in basketball, and we’re favored to win the state title,” Gunn said. “The pressure really isn’t on me like it was on the football field. This is more about the team doing really well.”

Gunn, ranked as the nation’s No. 19 running back, said he did get a chance to watch a little football this weekend. He’s watching the Chiefs-Broncos right now and he caught the tail end of the Big 12 Championship game.
“I was surprised that K-State whipped up on them like that,” Gunn said.
“I knew K-State would play with them, but I didn’t think they would win like they did. If they would have lost, it probably wouldn’t have mattered that much to me, but a win like that sure makes them look better to me.”
Gunn has already visited Kansas State and Nebraska. He’s visiting Iowa State next weekend on December 12. He is also considering visiting UCLA.
“I got in-home visits from UCLA and Iowa State last week,” Gunn said. “And the K-State offensive coordinator is coming up here tomorrow to visit with me and my parents.
"I’ve not heard from Nebraska since coach Solich was fired. I don’t really know what’s up with them now.”
