Gulliver Prep star makes big plays

Frank Crawford made an immediate impact when he transferred to Miami's Gulliver Prep School and that's just the way he likes it. The athletic defensive back is enjoying making an impact on the field and has been seeing his recruitment pick up of late.
"This year was my first year at Gulliver," Crawford said. "I came after my sophomore year. I had met new people and different plays and a different system. It was good."
The 6-foot-2 athlete plays safety on defensive and occasionally doubles as a wide receiver on offense. However, the defensive side of the ball is where he feels at home.
"I feel comfortable on defense," he said. "I can hit. I like getting interceptions. I like scoring touchdowns and making big plays."
Crawford isn't just talking. He pulled in six interceptions as a junior and returned two of them for touchdowns. Colleges have noticed his playmaking ability.
"I got an offer from Ole Miss that I got during my sophomore year," he said. "I've been talking to South Carolina, Duke, Ole Miss and FIU, I like FIU too."
Despite the interest from other programs, the Miami native would still like to hear from his hometown school.
Who did he route for growing up?
"UM, cause I stay at South Miami," he said. "We used to walk to UM and try to watch them practice and stuff."
This spring, Crawford will be running track for the first time, focusing on the 100 meters and the long jump.
