Gulliver Prep standout with a new offer

Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep has several standouts in the class of 2009 and one of them is 6-foot-1 safety prospect Frank Crawford. Crawford had already picked up three BCS conference offers before finding out on Tuesday that he had received his second SEC offer.
"I just got an offer from South Carolina," Crawford said on Tuesday evening. "Coach Gillespie called (Gulliver Prep coach) Coach Butler. I got on the phone with him and he told me that they were going to give me a full scholarship."

Crawford was excited about offer number four not simply because of the offer itself but because of the school that extended it.
"I've seen them play a couple of times," he said. "I like them. I was excited when I found out I got it."
Crawford wasn't the only Gulliver Prep standout to receive the good news from the Gamecocks on Tuesday. His teammate Artice Kellam also picked up an offer from Steve Spurrier's staff.
"We'd love to play together," Crawford said of the idea of playing in college with Kellam. "We've been talking about it and we're going to go up there and visit during the summer. I'm still learning about the program but I like South Carolina though. I just like the team. They look real good to me."
Crawford doesn't have plans to hit any college spring games. Instead he's spending most of his time preparing for his own spring game, running track and lifting weights.
