Guidry looking at options

Metairie (La.) Rummel defensive tackle Briston Guidry committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but after the 2014 season the 2016 Rivals100 standout decided he needed to decommit.
"Mississippi State they're still my first school and my first love," Guidry said. "I just wanted to open up my recruiting process and see what options are out there. Because I committed early I couldn't explore other schools so I just wanted to explore other schools.

"It was not like a decommitment where I don't want to go there I just want to open up my options and see what's out there."
In addition to his offer from Mississippi State, Guidry also holds offers from Louisville, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Southern Miss, and Ole Miss, and all the schools are "fair game" at this point in the process.
"I'm just looking right now," Guidry said. "I'm just trying to see what school is going to fit me the best."
Guidry, who is a two-time 5A All-State selection, has drawn attention from college coaches for his play at both defensive end and defensive tackle. At 6-foot-3, 275, he brings plenty to the trenches, and right now he does not have a position preference.
"I just tell them I don't care where you put me," Guidry said. "I feel like I can produce anywhere on the d-line."
Mississippi State, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Ole Miss are recruiting him the hardest right now, and LSU has also come on strong.
He does not have any visits on his schedule at this point.
As a sophomore, Guidry recorded 73 tackles, 23 TFLs, 11 sacks, an interception and a blocked kick. As a junior, he finished the season with 77 tackles, 9.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a safety.
Guidry is currently ranked No. 91 in the 2016 Rivals100, No. 11 among the nation's 2016 defensive tackles, and No. 9 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Postseason Top 35.
