Cedar Park (Texas) 2017 cornerback Javelin Guidry received his first offer from Arizona State shortly after the start of the season, and the Navy Midshipmen joined his growing list a few weeks ago.

Guidry, who stands in at 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, has defensive back in his blood. His father, Javelin Guidry, was part of the first brother duo to start in the UCLA Bruin secondary with his brother Paul Guidry in the late 80s.
He was a standout performer at the Rivals Camp Series in Dallas, and he turned heads with his cover ability on the college camp circuit.
With his father's UCLA ties, and his mother's, Guidry grew up a fan of the Bruin program, but he has also grown familiar with Arizona State
"My dad actually went to UCLA so he kind of knows Arizona State," Guidry said. "They're a good team. I watched them on TV a couple of times. They have really good blitzing schemes and that's good for corners."
Guidry has not had a chance to watch much of Navy at this point, but he was able to take his first unofficial visit of the season a few weeks ago.
"I've been to the TCU-Texas game," Guidry said. "Well, the pregame was amazing. It was nice. Like them doing the drills and all the rituals they do it was pretty nice."
Right now though, Guidry is not focused on recruiting. He has other things at the top of his priority list, and he is busy reaching for and accomplishing goals on and off the football field.
"I'm focused on the season and school right now," Guidry said. "Every week is a big week for us. We focus on going 1-0 each week. Then school work and studying and all that stuff, it's good."
Guidry and the Cedar Park Timberwolves are currently 6-0 on the 2015 season and 3-0 in district play, and host undefeated district rival Austin Vandergrift on Friday.
