GTech new to Virginia QB’s list

Two-star pro-style quarterback Randy Hippeard from Stafford (Va.) Colonial Forge High is poised to turn heads this fall after leading his team to a 9-2 mark as a junior. He has been diligent in the weight room preparing for this goal over the summer, and has bulked up to 195 pounds (from 185 pounds), and has added an inch to measure in at 6-foot-4. With the new size he has still maintained his speed of 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Hippeard has been told by several schools that they are waiting to see him play this season before extending a scholarship offer. Five schools in particular have mentioned this possibility, and they are his current leaders. What does he like about these schools?

“I like Wake Forest because I went up there for a passing league tourney, and I talked to a recruiting coach, and he seemed cool,” he commented. “It was a beautiful place.
“I like Duke because I would get a great education there. I like the coaching staff at Richmond, and it’s really a nice place.
“I like Northeastern because I went up there, and the campus was really pretty, and they had a great coaching staff. Georgia Tech just came into the picture because my coach said they were starting to look at me. I really haven’t checked up on them yet, but they always have a pretty good team.”
As a junior Randy threw for over 1,600 yards with 14 touchdowns. He also ran for two scores.
He projects as a full qualifier with a 3.0 GPA, and has already scored a 1050 on the SAT.
