GTech Lands Four-Star Commit

Georgia Tech has landed a commitment from New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine tight end John Doucette.
“John committed this week when the Georgia Tech coaches were in his home,” said St. Augustine offensive line and tight ends coach David Jenkins. “They’re getting a great player and a great kid as well.”

Doucette is a 6-foot-2, 245-pounder with excellent hands, good blocking skills and impressive speed.
“He knows how to run precise routes, he blocks very well and we use him in almost every situation,” said Jenkins. “He could have gone anywhere but he felt at home with Coach (David) Kelly and the staff at Georgia Tech.”
Doucette is ranked 11 at tight end and is a four-star prospect. He had offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, West Virginia and many others. He had been favoring Florida lately, but Georgia Tech did a great job recruiting him.
“They made him feel comfortable,” said Jenkins. “He’ll be a great tight end in college.”
