Growing interest in Lewinson

Seffner (Fla.) Armwood defensive lineman Sheldon Lewinson began with an initial offer from Western Michigan prior to the spring. Since that time, his list has grown and now includes the likes of Bethune-Cookman, Grambling State, North Texas, Temple, Youngstown State, and Wake Forest.
"I have about 10 offers now," Lewinson said. "I have been doing my research on them."

In addition to his offers, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound defender is also receiving interest from Chattanooga, Florida, Rutgers, and Vanderbilt.
With full intentions of taking his time and finding the right school, Lewinson has a few specific interests in his future home.
"I want to go to a school that provides the academic field I want to major in because I want to be a doctor," Lewinson said. "I am going to lay out my choices at the end and I am going to look them up to see how their team does and how I would fit into their scheme defensively. I will then also look at their academics and try to find the one with the best medical field."
According to Lewinson, he is being looked at for a variety of positions depending on the school. Positions that have been mentioned to him include linebacker, defensive end, or defensive tackle.
While he claims no leader, he admits that one of his offers is standing out because they fit the entire description of what he wants in his future home.
"Wake Forest is a school that I have high interest in right now," Lewinson said. "I like how they run a 3-4 defense like Armwood does so it won't be very different or a transition for me. I like how they want me to play noseguard, because that is the same position I play at Armwood. It isn't going to be a hard learning transition for me because I have been playing that since I first got into football a couple years ago."
So far this summer, the only college campus that Lewinson has visited is Central Florida, where he participated in a 7-on-7 event along with his Armwood teammates. He has no visit planned at this time.
