Grixby waiting still

Omaha (Neb.) Central cornerback Cortney Grixby has taken one official visit. But, he’s going to wait until after the season to see any more schools.
“I did take an official visit to Iowa,” the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Grixby said. “I did that near the end of September. But, I don’t have any other set up yet. I really just wanted to take one during the season and the rest of them when I’m done playing. So, I’ll just wait.”

Two other schools are pretty sure to get visits from the four-star rated Grixby.
“I’m going to visit UCLA and Nebraska,” he said. “I’m just interested in them both and want to check them out. Obviously, my brother is at Nebraska and that is part of it, but I also like the school. And, UCLA has coach (Eric) Bienemy there now. He was recruiting me when he was at Colorado last year. I want to go and see UCLA and talk to them.”
Grixby’s teammate, Brandon Gunn is taking an official visit this coming weekend to Kansas State and Grixby said he considered tagging along with him.
“I have thought about going with Brandon this weekend,” he said. “It would be an easy trip to make, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that trip. I am interested in them a little bit, but I don’t want to take an official visit there now. I know Brandon will fill me in on it when he gets back.”
Grixby hopes he can help turn Central’s season around in the final month of the season.
“We’re not doing too good,” he said. “We have been struggling. We have played four of the state’s top 10 schools so far and the schedule hasn’t been that nice to us. We are 1-5. I’m doing pretty good individually I think. Hopefully we can get it going as a team.”
