Grixby set to visit Irish

Omaha (Neb.) Central cornerback Cortney Grixby has taken three official visits and next week will get him his fourth, and possibly final, trip.
“I have already visited Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas State,” the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Grixby said. “I am going to visit Notre Dame next weekend (Jan. 9). After that, I’ll look at my options. I’m not saying I won’t take a fifth trip, but I’m also not saying I will.”

Grixby still has one eye on the Nebraska coaching situation.
“I’m waiting to see what they are going to do,” the four-star rated cornerback said. “I have a lot of interest in Nebraska, but I don’t know what they are doing as far as a coach. How that shakes out will have a lot to do with things that I do.
“I also am very interested in Notre Dame. Coach (Tyrone) Willingham is a good coach. He has things headed in a good direction there, I think. He came and saw me last fall. He is an impressive man and he did a good job telling me about their program.”
Grixby still is considering the other two schools he visited.
“I haven’t eliminated them,” he said. “I am staying in touch with the coaches from Iowa and Kansas State just like the other two. I want to make sure I get the best situation for me.”
