School: Omaha (Neb.) Central

Position: Cornerback
Size and Speed: Grixby is 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He has been clocked at 4.55 seconds electronically in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Grixby didn't see a lot of action on defense, the side of the ball he is being recruited for, because he was also Omaha Central's starting quarterback.
He did throw for 1,284 yards and ran for another 837. He combined for 14 touchdowns.
Favorite Schools: Grixby is drawing interest from several Big 12 schools including Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa State and Oklahoma. Notre Dame, Iowa and Michigan have also expressed some interest.
Skinny: Many times a player from Omaha is set on playing for the Huskers. Especially when that player's older brother is already on the team in Lincoln.
That isn't the case with the younger Grixby. At least he isn't letting on if it is.
"I'm not set on playing there," Grixby said. "Even though my brother (DeAntae) plays at Nebraska, I'm open. I'm keeping my options open and listening to what all of the schools have to say."
Schools are expressing interest because of the athletic ability Grixby has shown on the field.
"I play quarterback. We run and thow the ball, so I'm on the move a lot. But, my playing quarterback keeps me from playing on defense all the time. When I get the chance on defense, the other teams don't come my way very often. That keeps me from having very good numbers on defense."
Grixby also excels on the basketball court.
"I really like basketball too," he said. "It is a sport I really like. If I can get the opportunity to play both sports in college that would interest me. That would keep me from having to pick between them. But we'll see how it plays out too."
Grixby hopes to make a few camps this spring and summer.
"I'm hoping to get to one of the Nike camps this spring. I'd also like to the Nebraska and Colorado camps this summer."
