Grimes lands two big offers

Tony Grimes is one of the top cornerback prospects from south Florida. Grimes, 6-0 and 166 pounds, is from Hollywood (Fla.) Hills High School. Last season as a junior he recorded 41 tackles, five interceptions and 15 pass breakups.
"I am a leader out there and I lead by example," Grimes said. "I am a competitive player and I always want to come out on top."

Going into today, Grimes had scholarship offers from Purdue, Oregon, Florida Atlantic, USF, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Toledo. Then today he landed two big ones, one from South Carolina and the other from Texas Tech.
"I don't know anything about either school. But they are interested in me so I am interested right back. I want to get to know each program, not a deep discussion, meet the dudes, sized me up.
"I like all the schools that have offered plus USC, Michigan, Oklahoma State and West Virginia.
"I want to find a place where I am comfortable and that has good graduation rates. The depth chart is important too."
So far Grimes has been to one school. He went to Athens for a Georgia junior day.
"That was a great experience and I really enjoyed myself. The coaches are down to earth and I am pretty sure they will offer this spring."
This fall Grimes will do it all from Hollywood Hills. He will play cornerback, safety, wide receiver and running back.
