Grimes checks out the Aztecs

Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum defensive lineman Greg Grimes took his first official visit to San Diego State this past weekend. The lineman said he loved his time in SoCal but wants to take a couple of other visits first before making a decision.
Grimes, 6-1, 285 pounds is one of the state's top defensive tackle prospects and was the MVP among the DLs at the NorCal NIKE Camp. San Diego State was the first school to offer and the tackle took his visit this past weekend.

"I had a great visit and really liked it a lot," Grimes said. "Friday, I had dinner with the players and coaches and was able to talk with the guys and ask them a lot of questions about the school and what they like about it. Later that night we went out and I liked the city of San Diego a lot, it's a very nice place for sure.
"Saturday I toured the campus, met the academic people and checked out the football facilities as well. That night we had dinner at Junior Seau's restaurant as well and that was a good time. Then we all went out again that night. There wasn't a lot of people on campus because the students just finished up finals but I still really enjoyed my time there.
"Sunday I met with the coaches and just went over my role in the defense. I talked with my position coach about how I would fit in and he showed me how they play and their style of defense. It was really cool and like I said, I really had a great time there.
"I haven't set up any other visits yet but want to take at least one or two visits in January before committing anywhere. Utah State has offered and I could visit there. I'm also hearing from Oregon, Washington and Cal right now."
