Grigsby has new leader

Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino prospect Reggie Grigsby Jr. has listed Colorado as his leader for the longest time, but it looks like that has changed.
“Washington State is my new No. 1 choice,” Grigsby said.

Grigsby’s comment comes after the 6-0, 183-pound cornerback visited the Pullman campus over the weekend on his official visit.
“The visit went pretty good,” he said. “We hung out with a couple of football players who were from the California area, too. I met with Coach (Mike) Price. It was all pretty good.”
Before his trip to see Washington State, who defeated Oregon State that weekend, Grigsby had been leaning to Colorado for almost the entire summer. But he thinks something’s amiss in Boulder.
“I called coach (Brian) Cabral (a Colorado assistant) last week on his cell phone and he’s never called me back,” Grigsby said. “I think it was Monday last week when I called. I haven’t really heard from them at all.”
The Buffs lead the nation in number of commitments with 19. Grigsby thinks the Buffs could be no longer interested. But he doesn’t seem too worried about it.
“I liked Colorado, but Pac-10 football is pretty strong itself,” he said.
Grigsby is slated to next visit Arizona State on Dec. 7, but is attempting to move that visit up. San Diego State may also receive an official visit. ASU, San Diego State and Wazzou have offered Grigsby a scholarship.
It appears that Oklahoma and Kansas State are no longer under consideration.
