Greiser chooses Liberty

It's not too often that a prospect turns down an offer from a respected college football program with great facilities and a storied tradition to go to a school not known for great football. But fullback Ryan Greiser is bucking that trend, and is taking the path less travelled.
"I think it was about a week ago, I decided that Liberty is where I want to go to college," said Greiser. "It has everything that I'm looking for. I know it's not going to get me a lot of attention, but I'm not really looking for that. It's a good school in a good location. I prayed about it a lot, and I don't think there's a better place for me to grow as a person."

The 6-foot-0, 201-pound fullback from Sellersville (Pa.) Pennridge runs the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds. Playing time was also a factor in his decision.
"Like I said, I know there won't really be any national fame or anything playing football here," he laughed. "But I just love to play the game, and I think I'll see a lot of action, even my freshman year. That was something that drew me to Liberty, in terms of the football. But really the decision was for other things."
In addition to his offer from Syracuse, Greiser was receiving heavy attention from Penn State, Wisconsin, Army, Navy and Delaware.
