Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith standout Greg Boone is focused on the finish of a spectacular high school season and then he will get down to recruiting.
Oscar Smith is 9-0 and headed to the District 6 playoffs in Virginia. Boone is a big reason why with 900 yards passing and 19 passing touchdowns. The 6-3, 258-pound quarterback also has 500 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns.
“I’m going to wait until the end of the season and then get down to setting up the visits and things,” Boone said. “There is no leader right now.”
Boone has not set up any official visits, but he did make an unofficial visit to see one his possible choices North Carolina upset Miami.
“It was a great game and great atmosphere,” Boone said. “It would be a good place to go to school.”
North Carolina is on a long list of possible places Boone will continue his football career. Others include Florida, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Boone has 16 offers and colleges have talked to him about playing everything from h-back to defense end. Some have talked about quarterback, and Boone would like a shot there.
“I would like the decision (of not playing quarterback) and not having somebody else make it for me,” Boone said. “But I’m going to look at schools even if they say I won’t be playing quarterback.”
