Greer excited about first Pac-10 offer

Michigan was the first school to offer Woodson Greer, a major first step for the Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra prospect who was one of the top linebackers at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp.
For a few weeks, the Wolverines were the lone team to offer but now Arizona State and San Jose State have entered the mix for Greer, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound recruit who's rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com.

"They're really interested in me," Greer said of the Sun Devils. "They said they're going to recruit a couple linebackers this season, they're probably going to sign three, and they'd really like to have me.
"I like them a lot. Our cornerback (Devan Spann) is going there and he said he likes it a lot, that it's a great program and I like how they run their defense and I could see myself in that program."
Arizona State has definitely jumped up for Greer, who said he is considering a summer trip to Tempe but that nothing has been decided yet.
As much as the Sun Devils stand out, the Serra prospect said he's still pretty enamored with Michigan not only because it was his first offer but the tradition and history in Ann Arbor is something special.
"That's a big program and they were my first offer so I'm going to keep them close," said Greer, who's also hearing a lot from Oregon and Washington and some other Pac-10 programs.
"They're moderately high right now. Their program and their tradition, it makes me want to go there a little bit because of how they put out so many people into the NFL and the way they run their program."
