Greensburg Central Catholic has talent in 2009

Greensburg (Pa.) Greensburg Central Catholic is home to one of the top cornerbacks in the nation in 2008, Chris Hayden-Martin. According to head coach Muzzy Colismo, the school may have even more talent in the 2009 class.
One of their prospects is 6-foot-5, 200-pound wide receiver Nate Antone.

"Nate had more one-handed catches this year than I've seen in my career," he said. "He's a very athletic player with great skill. He's going to have his choice of sports. He starts for our basketball team too, but his next sport after football probably is baseball.
"On the football field, he's taller than everybody else and has decent speed. He has the potential to get a lot bigger. The one problem is he goes from sport to sport, but if he focuses, he'll do well in the combines."
Antone is joined at receiver by 5-foot-10, 180-pound wideout Daunte Weaver-Johnson.
"Daunte has 700-yards rushing, 400-yards passing, two kickoff and one punt return for a touchdown," he said. "He already took a visit to Villanova for a game.
"He's got great hands, is a good runner and is versatile. He can play safety, slot or tailback. He's a real good blocker too."
In addition, Greensburg Central Catholic features a talented linebacker as well in 6-foot-1, 215-pounder Nick Karabin.
"His brother plays offensive line at Pittsburgh," he said. "Nick is tough and reminds you of an old fashioned football player, he kind of looks like Mike Ditka and that's the way he plays. He's a devastating linebacker that is very intelligent and doesn't make mistakes. He works hard in the weight room and is very physical."
So far this season according to Colismo, Karabin leads the team in tackles and has 46 unassisted.
Rounding out the group is versatile athlete Adam Palcic, a 6-foot-1, 185-pounder.
"He plays quarterback, cornerback and wide receiver for us," Colismo said. "He's thrown for 800-yards passing on a team that doesn't throw the ball a lot. He also is tops in the conference in interceptions with six this year. The big thing with him as a player is that his hands are better than any of them. He's a great receiver.
"He is also a terrific leader and is a talented basketball and baseball player too. In fact, his dad coaches basketball and I talked him into football to make him a better basketball player. I think if he's given an opportunity in basketball he may take it.
Colismo plans to have all his players participate in the Elite College Combine in New Jersey this spring.
