Greensboro OL likes Hokies

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Offensive lineman Michael Via of Northeast Guilford High is getting interest from several programs and currently has one that stands out.
"I haven't gotten any offers, but I am getting regular letters from Oklahoma State, N.C. State a lot, pretty much all the North Carolina schools and Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, schools like that," Via said.

One program currently is on top for the 6-foot-6, 250-pounder, who plays offensive tackle, defensive end and also long snaps.
"Virginia Tech is probably my favorite," he said. "N.C. State also sounds good and I also like Oklahoma State. I've just always been a big fan of (Virginia Tech). Their campus is great and it's a good place."
Via went to two Hokies games this past fall. He also attended games at North Carolina State and East Carolina.
Last weekend, Via made the short trip over to Winston-Salem, N.C., to check out Wake Forest. He has more trips planned.
"I'm going to try to go to Georgia Tech, Auburn and also to Florida's camp," Via said.
He also plans to attend the Columbus NIKE Combine.
Via is looking for three major things in a school.
"I'm looking what majors they have, like if they have my major, the football program and the campus," he said, adding that he wants to pursue a degree in engineering (most likely electrical) and that he prefers a rural campus.
Via was an All-County and All-Conference selection his sophomore and junior season.
