Green to follow teammate

Earlier this month Boston College ventured into the land of a thousand lakes and got the signature of Brandon Robinson. The Eagles may not be through in that part of the country however, as Brandon’s teammate, Golden Valley (Minn.) Breck cornerback Marcellus Green, is also beginning to garner attention. Will he follow his friend to the east coast?
“We are pretty good friends, but I am just keeping all options open,” commented the 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback with a 4.5 second 40-yard dash time and a 34-inch vertical leap. “I want to look at all of the schools recruiting me and visit them before making a decision.

“The academic aspect really important and the diversity.” Boston College is one of those schools showing early interest, along with Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Columbia, and Montana.
“I think I am really aggressive and a good tackler and a good hitter,” Green commented on his skills in the defensive backfield. “I am pretty good at man coverage.” He compares himself to Carolina Panther standout Ricky Manning, Jr.
“He is a small corner, but he is good at covering,” Green explained. “He plays like I play.”
Last year was Green’s first year as a starter, but he managed 70 tackles and two interceptions. He also had two receiving touchdowns in spot duty as a wide receiver.
An excellent overall athlete, he plays basketball and had a 20-foot long jump time in the state tack meet. He will also participate on the lacrosse team this year.
Last fall Marcellus attended the BC – Miami game and the Michigan – Minnesota game. He camped at BC, and will probably return to Boston this summer, along with a trip to Iowa.
He maintains a 2.8 GPA and is waiting on the results of both the ACT and SAT, which he took recently. He plans to major in sports medicine, sports management, or sports analysis: Something sports related.
