Green’s first trip “Perfect”

Westville (N.J.) Deptford inside linebacker / fullback Michael Green visited Virginia Tech last weekend and said his first trip went as well as it could go. He wants to see a few more places before making a decision, but the Hokies set the bar pretty high.
“It went real well,” he commented. “The football players just showed me a good time. I really like the coaching staff, and I felt like I was back at home.” He was hosted by sophomore tailback Cedric Humes and rated the trip a 10.

Green will visit Minnesota on Jan. 23 and has a visit set to Indiana, but wasn’t sure of the date. He said he may take a trip to Maryland this upcoming weekend, and plans to talk to the coaches this week to see if that is still an option. He plans to make a decision soon after the Minnesota visit.
“First I want to see if I can get to play early,” he commented on his collegiate criteria. “Then I am looking at the academics, the players, the environment, and the atmosphere.”
Rivals.com rates Green as the No. 22 prospect in New Jersey, and he stands 6-foot-1, weighs 235 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds. As a senior he had 109 carries for 870 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense, and defensively he added three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 137 tackles (16 for loss).
He is a 3.0 student with an 890 on the SAT and plans to major in criminal justice.
